Amazing location in the very center with the Deak Ferenc / Elisabeth square that is the absolute center of Budapest steps from the apartment.
Both the World famous Grand Synagogue of Budapest and the similarly renowned St. Stephen Basilica is a three minutes walk from the apartment.
The Parliament, the Opera House, the Chain Bridge and Szechenyi square are all a ten minutes walk in leisurely pace. Add five more minutes and go across the Chain Bridge and you are at the Buda Castle!
As for dining and entertainment options the apartment is in the famous ruin bar district that is currently the hippest and liveliest neighborhood of Budapest. Szimpla, that was voted the second best bar in the World by Lonely Planet is a five minutes walk, while the well known Gozsdu courtyard is steps away from the apartment. But the Madach square itself where the apartment is, is also renowned for having the best bohemian cafes and artisan restaurants (you should not miss Beszallo or Konyha) in the city. Really, the neighborhood has the best that Budapest has to offer!
If you want to venture further than the regular attractions then the area has excellent public transportation connections.
Deak Ferenc Square that is a major subway hub with stops to all three metro lines and several bus and tram lines.
Stop to the 24/7 tram line 4 and 6 that is going across central Budapest is within a 6 minutes walk.
Karoly korut (Charles Avenue), steps from the apartment also has stops to several trams and buses.
